Ethnicity and Diversity Policy
1. Purpose
At Camberley Chiropractic Clinic, we are committed to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in all areas of our work. We believe that a diverse and inclusive environment enhances the quality of care we provide and reflects the values of respect and compassion at the heart of our practice.
This policy sets out our approach to ensuring that everyone—patients, staff, and visitors—are treated fairly, with dignity and respect; regardless of their ethnic background or any other protected characteristic.
2. Scope
This policy applies to:
• All employees, associates, and contractors working within the clinic.
• All patients and visitors.
• All aspects of employment, service delivery, recruitment, and professional conduct.
3. Our Commitment
We are committed to:
• Creating an inclusive environment where people from all ethnic backgrounds feel valued and supported.
• Providing equal access to our services for all members of the community.
• Ensuring that no one is treated less favourably on the basis of race, colour, nationality, or ethnic or national origin.
• Complying fully with the Equality Act 2010 and all other relevant UK legislation.
• Encouraging understanding, respect, and open communication among team members.
• Addressing discrimination or harassment promptly and effectively.
4. Responsibilities
• Clinic Management will ensure that equality and diversity principles are embedded into daily operations, recruitment, and patient care.
• All Team Members are expected to uphold this policy, promote inclusivity, and challenge discriminatory behaviour or language.
• Patients and Visitors are encouraged to treat staff and others respectfully and to report any concerns regarding discrimination.
5. Recruitment and Employment
• We recruit and promote based on merit, skills, and qualifications, ensuring fair opportunities for all.
• Job applicants will not be disadvantaged by conditions or requirements that are not essential to the role.
• Training and development opportunities will be offered equally to all staff.
6. Patient Care
• We aim to deliver care that respects the cultural, linguistic, and spiritual needs of all patients.
• Staff are encouraged to be aware of and sensitive to cultural differences in communication and care preferences.
• We strive to make our clinic accessible and welcoming to everyone in the community.
7. Breach of Policy
Any form of discrimination, harassment, or victimisation is unacceptable and will be dealt with seriously under our disciplinary procedures.
Patients who behave in a discriminatory or abusive way may be refused treatment or asked to leave the premises.
8. Review
This policy will be reviewed annually to ensure it remains up to date with current legislation and best practice.
Feedback from staff and patients is welcomed to help us continually improve our inclusivity efforts.
