About Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is a healthcare profession that specialises in the assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal conditions, injuries and movement disorders. It aims to reduce pain, restore function, improve mobility and help people return to their everyday activities as safely and efficiently as possible.

Within the U.K., physiotherapy is a statutorily regulated profession through the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Physiotherapists use a wide range of evidence-based treatment approaches including, but not limited to, manual therapy, exercise rehabilitation, education and self-management strategies. Treatment is tailored to the individual and based on the latest clinical evidence and best practice.

Physiotherapy is suitable for people of all ages and activity levels. Whether you are recovering from an injury or surgery, managing a long-term condition, or looking to improve your strength, mobility or performance, your physiotherapist will create a personalised treatment plan based on the best available evidence, their clinical expertise and your individual goals.
