Rotator Cuff Injury

Untitled design 2
Our final puzzle piece for May focuses on one of the most common shoulder problems we see — rotator cuff injuries 💪

The rotator cuff is a group of muscles and tendons that help stabilise and move the shoulder. Because we use our shoulders for so much in everyday life, irritation or injury here can quickly become painful and frustrating.

Here’s a little more about it:

What causes it?
• Repetitive lifting or overhead movements
• Poor posture and rounded shoulders
• Sudden strain or awkward movement
• Weakness around the shoulder blade
• Wear and tear over time

Early warning signs
• Pain when lifting the arm
• Weakness in the shoulder
• Difficulty reaching overhead
• Pain lying on that side at night
• Clicking or catching sensations

How to help prevent it
• Improve posture at desks and screens
• Strengthen the upper back and shoulders
• Warm up before exercise or lifting
• Avoid overloading the shoulder too quickly
• Take breaks from repetitive movements

What can help recovery
• Rest from aggravating activities
• Gentle mobility and strengthening exercises
• Ice or heat depending on symptoms
• Shockwave Therapy
• Laser Therapy
• Tecar Therapy
• RockTape can help take the stress away from the muscles
• Soft tissue therapy and rehabilitation

• Improving movement patterns and posture

Shoulder pain can often start gradually, but catching it early can make a huge difference to recovery.
